TwinSME Partners Hold First Online Meeting to Launch Project Activities

On 19 February 2026, partners of the Erasmus+ project TwinSME – Twin Transition: Empowering European SMEs for the Digital and Green Future held their first online meeting, bringing together representatives from all seven partner organisations.

The meeting provided the consortium with an opportunity to introduce the project team, review the overall project structure and agree on the main tasks for the first six months. Partners discussed all five work packages, covering project management, SME readiness for the twin transition, development of practical digital tools, capacity building for SME managers and dissemination and impact activities.

The TwinSME partnership includes organisations from Slovakia, Greece, Luxembourg, Malta, Spain and Poland, combining expertise in SME support, vocational education and training, digitalisation, sustainability, research and business development.

A major focus of the meeting was Work Package 2, which will assess SME readiness for the green and digital transition. Planned results include a maturity framework and grid, a digital self-assessment tool, a user guide, beta testing and eventual integration of the tool into the project website.

Partners also reviewed the work planned under Work Package 3, which will develop digital tools for green and digital management systems, together with supporting guides and a transnational workshop.

Under Work Package 4, the partnership will focus on building the capacity of SME managers through educational materials, training and consultation activities designed to help businesses better understand and manage the twin transition.

The meeting also confirmed the importance of communication and stakeholder engagement. Under Work Package 5, partners will develop the project’s dissemination and sustainability strategy, website, promotional materials, social media activities and stakeholder mapping.

The first online meeting established a common understanding of the project’s objectives, responsibilities and timetable and set the groundwork for the first transnational meeting and workshop in Łódź, Poland, on 21–22 April 2026.

TwinSME is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union under Project No. 2025-1-SK01-KA220-VET-000352277.
